Did Jesus die on a Friday?

  Does the Bible state that Jesus died on a Friday?   The Bible does not explicitly name the day of the week on which Jesus died as "Friday." Instead, it provides chronological markers relative to Jewish observances and the Sabbath. Biblical Timing and Terminology The Gospels specify that the death of Christ occurred on the day known as Preparation . The Day of Preparation: The accounts state that Jesus died on the day before the Sabbath. For example, the Gospel of Mark notes: "Now as it was already late in the afternoon, and since it was Preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath..." The Jewish Sabbath: Traditionally, the weekly Sabbath begins at sunset on Friday and ends at sunset on Saturday. The Moedim

  Explain the Moedim.   The Moedim (מוֹעֲדִים) are the "appointed times" of Jehovah. They are not suggestions. They are not merely historical commemorations. They are divine appointments — fixed dates on which God meets with His people and fulfills His purposes. Leviticus 23 calls them "holy convocations" (miqra'ei qodesh — literally "rehearsals" or "dress rehearsals"). Each one is a prophetic rehearsal of a specific act of redemption. The spring moedim were rehearsals of the first coming of Christ. The autumn moedim are rehearsals of the second coming and the establishment of the Kingdom.
